The Rice County Mental Health Collective, with support from First United Church of Christ, will be offering a free WRAP group this fall. WRAP, or the Wellness Recovery Action Plan is a wonderful program of peer support for anyone striving to lead a healthy life. It can be especially helpful for those living with depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder or those going through a particularly difficult time. After creating a “comfort agreement,” our group will look at what we’re like when we’re well (and what our “wellness tools” are), what triggers us to feel stressed out, and how to prevent—as well as manage, if necessary—a crisis. Some sharing is expected as we get to know each other. Each person develops their own WRAP. They choose who assists and supports them—for instance: family, friends, or health care providers—as they work their plan.  Although it can be complimentary to other treatment options, WRAP does not replace traditional treatments or providers.
