Wife, Husband With 5 Kids Killed Riding In Minnesota

The couple was killed when a car made a left turn in front of a group of motorcycles Saturday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

KANDIYOHI COUNTY, MN — A wife and husband were killed Saturday morning while riding Harley Davidson motorcycles in southern Minnesota.

Authorities say a Chevrolet Monte Carlo was west on Highway 23 making a left turn onto County Road 2 and drove in front of a group of eastbound motorcycles.

Two motorcycles struck the Monte Carlo in the eastbound lanes, and a third laid down on the roadway to avoid a collision.

Two riders — Michelle Young, 44, and James Young, 42 — died at the scene.

Both the rider and passenger of a third motorcycle were transported to Paynesville Hospital with serious injuries. One of the two was later flown to St. Cloud Hospital.

Non of the motorcyclists were wearing helmets, according to authorities.

The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as Christina Marie Knutson, 21, of Bricelyn, Minnesota. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

Michelle and James Young are survived by their five children.
