Women in Northfield Giving Support (WINGS) will honor 23 area organizations
that serve women and children at its annual grant celebration at 5:30 p.m.,
Thursday, June 20, in the Sun Ballroom at Buntrock Commons.
The groups are
recipients of $81389 in grants to provide programming in four areas: basic
needs, education, mental and physical health and entrepreneurship.
The event is open to the public and costs $20 per person. It includes a
light supper and a chance to hear about the work of the grant recipients. Registration is required and can be done at
the WINGS website, www.wings-mn.org. Please register by June 10.
An organization of more than 300 women, WINGS educates and expands the
number of women in philanthropy in Northfield, builds and strengthens community
through pooled investments, and improves the lives of women and children
in the area through focused giving. Since its founding in 2000, WINGS has granted
more than $592,000 to local organizations. Grant applications for 2014 will be
taken beginning in February.
