Woman Arrested for DWI with 1-Year-Old Grandchild In the Car

The woman had just picked her grandchild up to babysit for the weekend, according to police.

A 59-year-old Minnesota Lake woman was arrested for DWI earlier this month with her 1-year-old grandchild in the car. A trooper pulled over the woman for speeding and crossing the fog line on Nov. 3 on Interstate 90 near 260th Avenue in Faribault County.

He found a child in a car seat and learned the woman had just picked her grandchild up to babysit for the weekend, according to a news release.

Extra DWI enforcement is now on Minnesota roads weekends through Dec. 30.
