Woman Shot Multiple Times In Farmington, Undergoes Surgery
Police said the suspect, a 36-year-old male who is known to the victim, remained in the residence and initially refused to exit.
FARMINGTON, MN — A 25-year-old woman has undergone surgery and is now recovering after she was shot several times in the Twin Cities south metro Sunday. At about 8:51 p.m. on Sept. 3, officers from the Farmington Police Department were dispatched to the 18300 block of Exodus Court for a female who had been shot.
Upon arrival, the victim was located in the yard of the residence with multiple gunshot wounds and transported to the hospital. She is currently recovering after surgery.
The suspect, a 36-year-old male who is known to the victim, remained in the residence and initially refused to exit, according to police. The Dakota County Mutual Aid Assistance Group was mobilized and secured the scene while negotiations continued with the suspect.

At about 10:30 p.m., the suspect emerged from the residence unarmed and was taken into custody without incident, according to authorities. He is currently being held in the Dakota County Jail pending charges, according to a news release. Police say there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

The Farmington Police Department was assisted by the Farmington Fire Department, Allina Medical Transport as well as officers from the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office, Lakeville, Apple Valley, and Burnsville.
