50th Anniversary of The March on Washington and King's i have a dream" speech

Today is the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington. This was the pinnacle of the civil rights movement. King's words, "I have a dream," and "free at last" still ring in me and in our country. Yes, we have seen progress since the 1960s. At the same time, there have been set backs. Voter suppression has gutted the voter rights act. Anti-immigrant attitudes as seen in the failure to pass comprehensive immigration reform.

We can take pride that our country elected an African American President in Barack Obama, but anti-Obama is imbedded in the Republican party. We still haven't elected a woman President and we're a long ways way from pay equity.

We need to address racism in our society. We need bipartisan efforts aimed at building a just, equitable and tolerant society. What will you do?
