North Boys Soccer Team Eliminated from State Tournament
North High School's boys soccer team fails to make it to semifinals at Metrodome falling to Maple Grove 2-0
The North St. Paul boys soccer team faced off against Maple Grove in the quarterfinal round of the Class AA State Soccer Tournament on Thursday evening.
Playing in front of a near home crowd in Roseville, the Polar team allowed two early goals to Maple Grove in the first half and played catch-up for the rest of the game.
The Polars were able to maintain possession of the ball and put enormous amounts of pressure on the Maple Grove squad after the Crimson's goals. Yet, they were never able to break through the defense nor get past Crimson goalkeeper Atherton Wiseman for a momentum-swinging goal.
