Kids Planner: Fun Oakdale-Area Parks You Might Have Forgotten
If you're looking for fun things to do outside in the warm weather, you'll find lots at these nearby parks.

With the weather getting nice, we thought we’d devote some space to parks you may not have checked out recently.
- When/Where: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. every day at South Second Street and Nelson Street in Stillwater.
- Why Go: Now that the weather is nice, spend some time outside and reintroduce the kiddos to the sunshine.
- Geared Toward: 7-year olds and younger.
- Price: Free.

- When/Where: All day, every day! The main portion of the park is just south of Interstate 94 between McKnight Road and Century Avenue.
- Why Go: Walking/biking trails, a playground and even a dog park for your canine kids will keep everyone in the family happy.
- Geared Toward: The whole family.
- Price: Free.

- When/Where: 10-6 p.m. daily. The zoo is between Lexington Parkway and Hamline Avenue.
- Why Go: One of the few free zoos still around, Como Zoo has had some major updates recently.
- Geared Toward: The whole family.
- Price: Free, but a voluntary donation of $2 per adult and $1 per child would be gratefully accepted.
- When/Where: Mondays at 10:30 a.m. at the .
- Why Go: If you need something to do inside on a rainy day, check out storytime!
- Geared Toward: Preschoolers but siblings are welcome.
- Price: Free.
Plan Ahead: Frog Hike
- When/Where: Tuesday, May 17, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Maplewood Nature Center.
- Why Go: Learn to identify the different frogs in the nightly chorus outside your window.
- Geared Toward: Children 6 years old and older with an adult.
- Price: $5 per family.
- Register by: May 15.
