No ‘Pink Slime’ in District 622 Lunches
District 622 announced that ammonium hydroxide-treated meat isn't served in its school lunches.

School District 622 announced on its website that the beef used in the district's school lunches doesn’t contain so-called “pink slime,” a filler of finely textured beef treated with ammonium hydroxide.
“School District 622 does not and will not have ammonium hydroxide-treated meat in school lunches,” the announcement says.
The announcement cited news reports saying that the slime might end up in school lunches.
