Woodbury Leadership Academy (WLA) is a tuition-free, K-12 public charter school where high expectations and success matter to all! Our learning environment and school community promotes academic achievement for students in grades K-12, as well as personal integrity, equity and a dedication to value and serve others. Our school is committed to our students’ long term success. We use inquiry based learning by teaching the Core Knowledge Curriculum — building strong skills in math, reading, writing, history, science and technology. We also have a strong character education program to ensure students develop exceptional leadership skills. The character education program includes service learning projects and a focus of five core virtues - respect, responsibility, perseverance, gratitude and humanity. WLA uses the rigorous and classical Core Knowledge Curriculum to build strong foundational knowledge across subjects, promoting academic excellence and equity. By ensuring all students share common knowledge, we can narrow achievement gaps and build critical thinking and long-term success. The academic rigor at WLA prepares students for college and ready to lead. We out-perform the MCA Minnesota State average in all categories! Check out our report card. WLA is a public school with a private school feeling. WLA students wear school uniforms to promote equality, reduce peer pressure, and minimize distractions. Small class sizes at WLA allow for teachers and staff to provide personalized instruction, build strong relationships, and increase student engagement. The following people were arrested between 7 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, and 7 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office: <ul> <li>Deonna T. Hill, 24, of Oakdale, arrested at the Washington County Jail on traffic charges.</li> <li>Robert T. Karalunas, 42, of Oakdale, sentenced on a traffic charge.</li> <li>Michael W. Lorentz, 53, of Oakdale, arrested at interstates 694 and 94 on a fourth-degree DWI charge.</li> <li>Ronald Moore Jr., 42, of Cottage Grove, arrested in the 1800 block of southbound Interstate 694 on fourth-degree DWI and traffic charges.</li> </ul> Charges listed should be considered pending, and will not necessarily match official charges from the courts. It is possible those listed will not be officially charged. Those listed are Oakdale residents arrested in Washington County; anyone arrested in Oakdale regardless of city of residence; anyone arrested by the Oakdale Police Department; and anyone arrested on charges for crimes that occurred in Oakdale. Those listed are considered innocent until proven guilty.
