Oakdale Man Charged in Alleged Midnight Ride that Damaged Transfiguration Field, Parks

Property damage from the alleged incident totaled nearly $10,000.

An Oakdale man was charged with first-degree property damage and underage drinking and driving for allegedly driving through field, the yards of nearby homes and two parks.

Police found Tyler D. Rosset, 19, driving his Buick Century east from the school’s field through a wooded area on Sept. 25, 2010, according to the Washington County District Court complaint.

They found numerous tire marks in the field, and damage to the soccer goal nets, which had been ripped out of their frames, the complaint says.

Police later found soccer netting tied to the car’s trunk latch, as if Rosset had dragged the nets, according to the complaint. The estimated cost of the damage to Transfiguration was $5,058, the complaint says.

The morning after the incident, Oakdale police received additional reports of damaged yards and property that had occurred overnight. Two homeowners said they had tire damage in their yards. Another homeowner reported seeing a Buick Century drive through the field at and hit a portable toilet. There was also damaged grass and a damaged portable toilet at . Those damages totaled an estimated $4,342, according to the complaint.

Rosset admitted to drinking three shots of vodka between 9 p.m. and midnight Sept. 24 and then driving with a friend through the school’s field and wooded area, according to the complaint.

Rosset is charged with one count of first-degree property damage, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and $10,000 in fines; underage drinking and driving, with a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail and $1,000 in fines and underage consumption, which carries a maximum sentence of 90 days in prison and $1,000 in fines.

Rosset is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on April 20.
