Oakdale Man Faces Child Pornography Charges

Man allegedly received, distributed and possessed child pornography.

An Oakdale man was indicted this week for allegedly receiving, distributing and possessing child pornography, according to a press release.

Brian Gene Montgomery, 50, allegedly received images and video of minors engaged in sexual conduct and distributed an explicit image, the press release says.

Montgomery was indicted Wednesday, Aug. 17, he made his initial appearance in federal court Thursday and his indictment was unsealed Friday morning, according to the release.

He allegedly received explicit images on Nov. 17, 2010, and received an explicit video the next day, the release says. On Feb. 23, 2011, he allegedly distributed an image containing child pornography, the release says. On May 4, 2011, he allegedly possessed thousands of images of minors engaged in sexual conduct, according to the release.

He faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison for each count of receipt and the distribution charge, and 10 years in prison for the possession charge, the release says.

The Minnesota Cyber Crimes Task Force, sponsored by the FBI, conducted the investigation in this case, according to the press release.
