Oakdale McDonald’s Holds Ribbon Cutting, Opens Friday Morning

Shop gives $1,500 donation toward veterans memorial.

Oakdale’s long-awaited McDonald’s restaurant opens its doors at 5 a.m. Friday morning, and restaurant management held a ribbon cutting Wednesday to celebrate.

Acting mayor Lori Pulkrabek said, based on the inquiries she's gotten, “a number of people will be very happy that you’re open.”

As part of the ribbon cutting ceremony, owner Oscar Binder presented a check to the Oakdale Veterans Memorial Committee for $1,500 to go toward the at Oakdale City Hall.

Binder said his father-in-law lost his eye in the Korean War, and so veterans’ causes are important to him.

The restaurant is located on Highway 5, east of Interstate 694 near .
