Key to Awesomeness: Since the time third-grader Sasha Tomasevich first acted in a play in a summer camp after kindergarten, he knew it was for him. He said he fell in love with the chance to be someone else for a little while. Apparently, his enthusiasm shows, because he made it into the first professional play he auditioned for— playing a baby angel in a production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, that was onstage in December at SteppingStone Theatre in St. Paul. Sasha wasn’t fazed by having to practice almost every day for two months. He said he plans to audition for the theater’s next production—The Emperor’s New Clothes. He said he also likes to sing, and his favorite subject in school is music. When he’s not on stage, Sasha’s other hobbies include participating in the Omni Otters Swim Club, karate (he’s a blue belt) and attending Minneapolis Institute of Arts classes and workshops, through which his art has been shown in the museum galleries. Currently one of his paintings is on display in the student gallery.
