Oakdale Police Blotter: $4,000 Door Stolen From Construction Vehicle

In other reports, lemonade stand triggers call, and man seeks refund for canceled fishing tournaments.

Someone stole the door and windshield off the front of a skid loader between Saturday Aug. 13 and Monday Aug. 15, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.

A construction worker on a site in the 900 block of Helena Avenue reported the theft around noon on Aug. 15. The door will cost $4,000 to replace, the report says.

The following incidents were also reported to Oakdale police Aug. 15-16:

Aug. 15:

  • A $200 GPS device and $130 cell phone were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway in the 6600 block of 12th street. The letter "B" was written in pink window paint on the rear passenger window.
  • Multiple vehicles in the 6500 through 6700 blocks of Lower 12th Street had been "tagged," or spray painted, many with gang-related phrases.
  • A Breezy Point, MN, man reported that he paid an Oakdale man $1,500 for three fishing tournaments, but did not receive a refund after the tournaments were all canceled. The complainant spoke with the Oakdale man in mid-July, at which time he said he didn’t have the money to return, however since then he has not returned the complainant’s calls.
  • An employee at reported that a 33-year-old Chisago City woman hid $67 worth of items in her purse and left the store without paying. The woman told police she was desperate and wanted the pet supplies for her kids’ dog.
  • A 20-year-old woman was found hanging in a garage. She was deceased upon police arrival. Police are investigating the death, however, a relative said she suffered from depression.
  • One juvenile was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and another was cited for indecent exposure for urinating at around 4 p.m.
  • Oakdale police got a report that juveniles who were running a lemonade stand in the 5500 block of Golfview Avenue were impeding traffic. Police observed the stand, but found that it was on the side of the road and not impeding traffic.

  • A $150 mountain bike was stolen from a garage in the 7700 block of Fourth Street between 2 p.m. Aug. 12 and Aug. 14.
  • A complainant at reported that employees at were blaring music and approaching customers on the sidewalk, affecting his business. Police conducted a walk-through at Smokedale Tobacco and asked the employees to turn the music volume down. While on site, an officer observed a truck pull up in front of two “no parking” signs in the fire lane in front of the stores and begin unloading beverages. The truck was also blocking the entrance to First Nails. Police cited the truck driver. The driver reported that Smokedale does not accept deliveries to the back door.
  • Someone broke into an attached garage in the 1300 block of Guthrie Avenue between Aug. 12 and Aug. 14. The garage’s service door had been tampered with and the glass was broken out of the garage window causing $50 damage. The vehicles in the garage had been rummaged through, but nothing was reported stolen.
