Oakdale Police Blotter: Army Flight Helmet Reported Stolen from Vehicle

Other reports include marijuana in an elevator and a car hit by a paintball.

An Oakdale man reported that his green and tan U.S. Army flight helmet, valued at $2,500, was stolen from the back seat of his car while it was parked at between 5:45 and 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, according to an Oakdale police report.

The man believed the car was locked, but there were no signs of forced entry into the vehicle, the report says.

 Following are other incidents that were reported on March 22 and 23:

 March 22:

  • Someone at Safe Harbor Systems reported that two 400–500 pound scrap servers were stolen from the business’ recycle bin between 5 p.m. March 21 and 7:30 a.m. March 22. The complainant believes steel scrap metal may have been stolen during the past two weeks.
  • A resident in the 6300 block of Upper 48th Street reported that around 10:30 p.m. her kids were asleep and her dogs suddenly started barking. She went through the house and found a window open wide enough that a person could fit through it. The window has no screen. The woman said she would set her house alarm in the future.
  • A resident in the 4100 block of Geneva Avenue reported that her hidden cash, totaling $2,000, was stolen between March 15 and March 22. She recently broke up with her boyfriend, and thought he might have done it.
  • A vehicle was shot with an orange paintball gun, and the complainant reported it possibly occurred in the area of Highway 36 and Hadley Avenue. Police were unable to locate any suspects in the area.


March 23:

  • An Oakdale resident reported finding a bag of marijuana in an elevator in a building in the 4900 block of Hamlet Avenue.
