Oakdale Police Blotter: Break-in at Counseling Center, Nothing Stolen
In other reports, a pizza delivery man was offered marijuana as a tip.

Someone broke into , but didn’t steal anything, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.
According to the report, the break-in occurred sometime between May 19 and 21. The rear door had been pried open, and six interior doors were kicked in, the report says.
Two lock-boxes were also pried open, according to the report.

May 21:
- The owner of Pizza Man in St. Paul reported that a driver was offered what appeared to be marijuana as a tip when he delivered pizza to a residence in the 900 block of Glenbrook Avenue.
- Three duffel bags of clothes and personal information worth a total of $360 were stolen from a car parked in a lot in the 6000 block of 40th Street. The complainant saw a man inside the vehicle as he walked toward it around 8 a.m. The man fled in another vehicle when he saw him.
- The responded to a Dumpster fire at around 9:41 a.m. The fire was possibly started by fireworks or grill embers that had been placed in the Dumpster.
- A $100 GPS device was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 6400 block of 11th Street Circle.
- A Maple Plain man allegedly took two 1,000 foot rolls of wire from , switched the price tags on them with cheaper rolls and then paid the lower price in effect stealing $923 from the store. Loss prevention made contact with the suspect in the parking lot and told him there was a problem with his purchase and he needed to go back inside. The man said he needed to go to his car to roll his window down for his dog, and then drove off, leaving a cart with the items at the store. Similar thefts have occurred in Burnsville and Fridley. The same man allegedly got away with stealing $250 worth of wire using the same method at Menards on May 14.
- A crash occurred when an unsecured storage shed blew out of the back of a pickup truck in the 2700 block of Hadley Avenue. The vehicle that hit the shed sustained scratches on the driver’s side door area. The driver carrying the shed was ticketed for an unsecure load violation.
- A resident in the 500 block of Glenbrook Avenue reported that someone broke one of the panes of glass in her front bay window between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. causing $200 damage.
- An employee at at 10th Street and Helmo Avenue reported that someone pumped $58 worth of gas and drove off without paying for it.
- An iPod, laptop charger, headphones and other items totaling $740 were stolen between 6:45 and 9 p.m. from a convertible parked at . The convertible top had been cut causing $3,000 damage.

- Between 10 and 11 a.m. someone keyed a speedboat that was parked on a trailer in a driveway in the 7600 block of Stillwater Way causing $500 damage.
- An intoxicated complainant in the 6400 block of Upper 55th Street reported that a 36-year-old man punched him in the face after the complainant told him to leave his young daughter alone. The complainant then threatened to shoot the other man.
- Police took two teenagers into custody after they were seen putting handguns in their waistbands in the 6800 block of Eighth Street. The complainant said he saw the boys shooting at signs in the area. The guns were determined to be airsoft guns, which police booked into evidence.
- Oakdale police observed a car in the 6000 block of Seventh Street whose registered owner had a revoked driver’s license. Police stopped the car, and the driver produced his Minnesota identification card to prove that he wasn’t the registered owner, however, his license was suspended with more than 10 failure to appear/pay fines violations in the past three years. The driver, a 22-year-old St. Paul resident, was arrested and the car was released to a valid driver.
