Oakdale Police Blotter: Burglars Stole 40-inch TV During Daytime Hours
In other reports, laptop, cameras stolen from home; street sweeper stolen from parking lot

A 40-inch television was among the items reported stolen from a home in the 400 block of Gentry Avenue that was burglarized during the day on Monday, Oct. 3, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.
The resident reported that he returned home around 5:30 p.m. to find the glass broken on one door to the home, and one door open, the report says. The burglary happened sometime after 7 a.m. that day, according to the report.
Police talked with a neighbor, who reported hearing a loud crashing noise between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m., according to the report.

A digital camera and 120 CDs were also reported stolen from the home, the report says.
The value of the items stolen totals more than $2,000 and the property damage estimate is $150.

The following incidents were also reported to Oakdale police Oct. 3 to 5:
Oct. 3:
- Someone caused $1,000 damage to a trailer parked in the 1000 block of Highway 694 and stole $1,825 worth of equipment from it between 3 p.m. Sept. 30 and 6:30 a.m. Oct. 3.
- Someone entered two unlocked trailers parked at Minnesota Seasons and stole five 5-gallon gas tanks, four backpack blowers (worth $549 each) and five trimmers (worth $279 each) between 2 p.m. Oct. 1 and 7 a.m. Oct. 3.
- Someone stole a $15,000 street sweeper and $3,500 homemade equipment trailer from a parking lot in the 5200 block of Geneva Avenue between 6 p.m. Sept. 30 and 2:30 p.m. Oct. 2. The street sweeper was later recovered in the 6000 block of Upper 51st Street.
- A $645 laptop, $200 digital camera, $400 digital camera and $64 cash were stolen from a home in the 1400 block of Goodwin Avenue. The complainant thought she accidentally left the door to the home unlocked while she walked her sister’s dog between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m.
- Between 11:02 and 11:30 a.m. a man gained access to a jewelry case at and stole $409 worth of gold earrings. Police have surveillance video.
- Someone smashed out the driver’s side window of a vehicle parked at between 4:45 and 5:50 p.m. and stole a $1,100 laptop and computer bag, as well as a $100 GPS device.
- A 27-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly striking her husband three to four times with a cordless drill while he was at a home in the 2400 block of Grenadier Avenue retrieving property. The woman admitted to hitting the man with the drill because she was upset.
Oct. 4:
- An Oakdale resident reported a fraudulent charge of $500 was made on his credit card at REI. The complainant had his card in his possession.
- A woman reported that the father of her child sent her seven text messages within a few hours—one of them threatening to kill her.
- A woman reported that her husband grabbed her by the right arm and neck and pushed her into a cabinet while she was trying to leave a house in the 6000 block of 17th Street. Her husband, a 35-year-old Oakdale man was arrested in the 1300 block of Geneva Avenue for domestic assault.
Oct. 5:
- A passenger-side window was broken out of a vehicle parked in a lot in the 4000 block of Geneva Avenue causing $200 damage.
