Oakdale Police Blotter: Man was Intoxicated, Driving More Than 100 mph
In other reports, police called to help drunk man wandering in hotel parking lot; two light poles knocked over on snowy day.

A 42-year-old Cottage Grove man was cited for DWI and speeding on Saturday, Dec. 3, after police saw him crossing the center line on southbound Interstate 694 and paced his speed at more than 100 mph in a 60 mph zone, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.
Police stopped the driver and gave him field sobriety tests, which he failed, the report says. A preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol concentration of .14, according to the report. He also had a limited license status. He told police he was driving home from the bar, the report says.

Dec. 2:
- An employee at the station at 10th Street and Hadley Avenue reported that someone pumped $68 worth of gas into their van and then drove off. A check of the license plate showed that the van had been stolen from White Bear Lake. The van was gone when police arrived, and staff didn't know its direction of travel.

- Police responded to the hotel parking lot on a report of an intoxicated man wandering around in the parking lot with one sock on and one bare foot. Police found the man at Sgt. Peppers. He was unable to care for himself, and released to a friend.
- A vehicle hit a light pole in the 3700 block of Gershwin Avenue around 5:45 p.m., knocking it over. The car was gone when police arrived.
- An Oakdale resident reported a hit-and-run car accident at 40th Street and Geneva Avenue. He said he was turning into a parking lot when a sedan rear-ended him and kept driving. The complainant followed the vehicle, and it stopped, and a man got out of the vehicle briefly, but then left again. The complainant had a license plate number, but it wasn’t on file. There were no injuries.
- A vehicle slid off the roadway near Inwood Avenue and Fourth Street and hit a turn signal and stop light. The pole was knocked over. The vehicle had a flat tire and damage to the left front corner.
Dec. 4:
- A resident in the 3600 block of Grovner Avenue reported that a newspaper delivery person backed out of his driveway and struck his mailbox and post across the street with his truck. The driver just left, and the complainant was unsure whether he realized that he hit the post. The estimated damage was $100.
