Oakdale Police Blotter: More Than $1,000 Worth of Items Stolen from Car
In other reports, a lawn mower and tools were stolen from an attached garage overnight and a purse stolen in St. Paul was recovered.

More than $1,000 worth of items were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 5400 block of Golfview Court Monday, Sept. 19, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.
Items stolen included: a $200 watch, 10 CDs valued at $50, a $450 pair of prescription sunglasses, a $125 GPS device and a golf bag and clubs worth $1,000, the report says.
The vehicle was not damaged, and the theft occurred between 4:30 p.m. Sept. 17 and 10 a.m. Sept. 19, according to the report.

Sept. 18:

- A man reported that someone stole his 1998 Honda Civic from a parking lot in the 6200 block of 12th Street between 1 a.m. and 12 p.m. The car was locked. The complainant has complete ownership of the car, and the only set of keys.
- A loss prevention employee reported that a repeat gas drive-off offender struck again, pumping $50 worth of gas. The same suspect and vehicle drove off without paying at the station on Jan. 12, Jan. 13 and July 25, allegedly stealing $107 worth of gas.
Sept. 19:
- A purse that had been stolen from St. Paul was found on the side of the road at in Oakdale.
- A resident in the 7400 block of 25th Street Circle was cited for dogs barking. A neighbor complained that his three dogs had been barking constantly for three hours.
Sept. 20:
- A $300 lawn mower and $2,000 worth of Snap-On tools were stolen from an attached garage in the 2500 block of Hydram Avenue overnight between Sept. 19 and Sept. 20. There was no forced entry, and it is unknown how someone got into the garage. The side mirror of a Harley motorcycle was also broken off, and the driver’s side door of a car was scratched. A resident at the home said his dogs barked at 3:30 a.m., however he didn’t notice anything was wrong at 5:45 a.m. His wife noticed the damage at 2 p.m.
- Police responded to for a check forgery in progress. A man had tried to buy an iPad and two televisions with a check that appeared to be fraudulently manufactured. The man fled on foot after an officer told him there was a problem with the check and he was being detained. Police caught and arrested the man and found he had a misdemeanor theft warrant out of Ramsey County.
