Oakdale Police Blotter: Shoplifting at Kmart

The below complaint reports are provided by the Oakdale Police Department.

Between May 22 and May 24, Oakdale police responded to seven complaints of theft, including three occurances of shop lifting and two vechile break-ins.

On May 23, three juveniles were issued citations for stealing merchandise from Kmart. The group of minors attempted to steal almost $150 worth of merchandise before they were apprehended by Kmart’s loss prevention specialists and cited by police.

On May 24, a woman lost her social security card, birth certificate and driver’s license when someone broke the passenger side window of her car in the LA Fitness parking lot and stole the items. All items, plus $15, were in her purse, which was stolen.

May 24:

  • Someone broke the driver’s side window of a car in the 1200 block of Glenbrook Avenue and stole $450 worth of belongings.

  • Police responded to a complaint that baby ducks were trapped in a sewer in the 7000 block of 15th Street Lane. Police rescued eight ducklings and returned them to their mother, who was waiting nearby.
  • Police were called to Mills Fleet Farm because a $10 counterfeit bill was used to purchase goods. Mills Fleet Farm loss prevention specialists didn’t know who used the money to purchase goods.
  • Police issued assault and disorderly conduct citations to two Tartan High School students. One student was punched in the face four to six times, and the other student was yelling obscenities.

  • 1 complaint of a runaway juvenile
  • 1 child custody complaint
  • 1 damaged gas line complaint
