Oakdale Police Blotter: Taxi Driver Robbed at Knifepoint
In other reports, a television was stolen from a hotel meeting room and a man was caught stealing a BB gun.

A taxi driver reported being robbed at knifepoint Thursday, March 1, in the 1300 block of Gentry Avenue, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.
The driver said that a man she picked up in Oak Park Heights took $47 from her at knifepoint and then fled north on foot, the report says.
Police determined that the man had been released from the Washington County Jail about two hours prior to the incident and figured out where he lived, the report says. They were unable to locate the man in the area, according to the report.

- A 17-year-old male was cited for domestic assault after getting into a fight with his 17-year-old brother in the 7100 block of 38th Street. A witness reported that the boys were punching each other and the boy who was cited had grabbed his brother by the neck.
March 1:
- Someone entered a meeting room at the through an unsecured window and stole a 37-inch plasma television worth $500. Shoe prints in the snow led to the Prom Center parking lot. The incident occurred between noon on Feb. 29 and noon on March 1.
- A camera, earrings, CDs and other miscellaneous items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 6000 block of 48th Street between midnight and 5 a.m. Feb. 27.
- Police responded to for an out-of-control 5-year-old that had run away from the school. When they got there, the boy was found in a puddle on the west end of the school property, submerged to his knees. The boy began throwing ice and snow at the officers. They put him in a squad car, where he continued to kick and punch the car, causing his hand to swell. An officer was able to calm the boy down and put an ice pack on his hand. He was released to his mother.
- A loss prevention employee at reported that a man removed a BB gun from its packaging, loaded the gun with BBs and concealed the gun in his clothing before leaving the store without paying for the $49 worth of merchandise. He fled in a vehicle driven by another man. Police stopped the car when it entered the Holiday gas station at Highway 5 and Hadley Avenue. The man driving the car had a revoked driver’s license. He was released at the scene and told that the report would be forwarded for driving after revocation charges. The BB gun was found in the car, and the suspect admitted to the theft. He was cited and released.
- A loss prevention employee at reported that two men—a 21-year-old and a 24-year-old, both from Maplewood—worked together to steal a $75 LED flashlight. One of the men removed the flashlight from its packaging and handed it to the other man, who concealed it and left the store without paying for it. The men declined to speak with officers, and one of the men was cited for theft.
