Oakdale Police Blotter: Teenager Drives Friend's Mom's Car into Yard
In other reports, items worth $260 were stolen from a car and a $15,000 ring was stolen from a bathroom counter.

A 17-year-old boy drove his friend’s mom’s car into the air conditioner of a home in the 3700 block of Grovner Road Saturday, Aug. 20.
The incident, reported around 8 p.m., occurred after another friend gave the boy the keys to the car.
The driver, who lives in Anoka, did not have a full license, just an instruction permit.

The accident caused minor damage to the car and severe damage to the air conditioner.

Aug. 21:
- A woman reported that someone broke the right, front headlight of her vehicle while it was parked at the between 5 and 7 p.m. causing $100 damage.
- Someone forced open a vending machine at between 9:40 p.m. Aug. 20 and 9:40 p.m. Aug. 21 and stole an unknown amount of money. The property damage estimate is $200.
- A GPS device and iPod with a total value of $260 were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 4800 block of Grenwich Trail. The vehicle was not damaged.
- Construction noise on the Canadian Pacific Railroad tracks around midnight prompted a noise complaint. Police learned that the tracks east of Geneva Avenue had become too damaged for a train to pass, which could cause derailment, and so they were doing an emergency fix.
Aug. 22:
- An Oakdale woman reported that a ring valued at $15,000 was stolen from her bathroom counter as well as $20 in change from a piggy bank. The woman has a suspect, however, he has denied the theft.
- A resident in the 2220 block of Grafton Avenue reported that someone smashed the door off of his mailbox, causing $50 damage.
