Oakdale Police Blotter: Thousands Worth of Items Stolen in Home Burlgary
In other reports, 10-year-old accosted in Oakfield Park, two car break-ins at Olive Garden.

A home in the 400 block of Gentry Avenue was burglarized during the day on Friday, Oct. 14, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.
Numerous items including an iPad, two laptop computers, jewelry and a television with a total value of $5,229 were reported stolen from the home, according to the report.
Someone broke out a window on the south entrance door of the home to gain entry sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 5:50 p.m., according to the report. The property damage estimate is $300, the report says.

- A cell phone was stolen from an unlocked locker in the girls locker room at between 11:20 a.m. and 12:20 p.m.
- Someone broke the rear, passenger-side window out of a vehicle parked at between 7 and 7:30 p.m. causing $200 damage. Around the same time at the Olive Garden another person reported that their company vehicle had been broken into. The rear, driver’s side window had been broken out of the vehicle, and a briefcase containing a company laptop and gold Indiana State Police ring was stolen. The value of items stolen was $2,904.
- Someone broke the windshield of a car parked in the 800 block of Heron Avenue after 9 p.m. Oct. 14 causing $400 damage.
Oct. 15:
- Someone broke out the rear window of an SUV parked in a driveway in the 6500 block of Stillwater Boulevard between 7 p.m. Oct. 14 and noon Oct. 15 causing $300 damage.
- Someone broke out the rear, small window of a car parked in a lot in the 6900 block of 10th Street causing $200 damage.
- A 17- and 16-year old boy were each caught trying to steal an $80 box of Magic cards from Kmart. The two were cited and released to their parents.
- Someone entered a home in the 4300 block of Grafton Avenue by removing a screen from an open second-story window and wrote with a large marker on the walls, TV and furniture between 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, and 1:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15. Two screwdrivers were also stuck in the wall. The residents were not home at the time. The property damage estimate is $1,000.
Oct. 16:
- A Buick Century stolen from St. Paul was recovered in the 1200 block of Glenbrook Avenue.
- A Maplewood man reported that he left his car running at a gas pump while he ran into the store at 10th Street and Geneva Avenue, and when he went back outside, the car was gone. The man said the incident occurred between 1 and 5 a.m. Employees said the man came into the store, but they didn’t remember seeing him in a vehicle. Cameras didn’t show the pumps at the gas station. The complainant was extremely intoxicated at the time of the report. The value of the vehicle is $8,000.
- Someone broke the windshield of a car parked in a driveway in the 4700 block of Hayward Avenue causing $400 damage between 9 p.m. Oct. 15 and 12:30 p.m. the next day.
- A resident in the 2500 block of Hilo Avenue reported that between 10 p.m. Oct. 15 and 4 p.m. Oct. 16 someone poured sugar into the gas filler tube of his granddaughter’s car. The car isn’t running and is going to be junked.
- An Oakdale woman reported that while her 10-year-old son was in around 3:10 p.m. a male in his late teens told the boy he loved him and invited him to his house for Popsicles. The boy left the park, and the male was gone from the park when police arrived.
- Police responded to a 911 hang-up in the 4800 block of Grenwich Way. The resident who answered said his 4-year-old son was watching a television show that said to call 911, and so he did.
- An Oakdale woman reported that her wallet had been stolen between 8 p.m. and midnight on Oct. 15 in Oakdale or St. Paul. A fraudulent charge had been made on one of her financial cards. The total value of the items stolen is $54.
Oct. 17:
- Police responded to an apartment building in the 6200 block of 40th Street on a report of a loud bang. Police smelled the odor of an exploded firework and found the stick portion of a bottle rocket in the hallway.
