Oakdale Police Blotter: Three Car Thefts Reported
In other reports, police helped free a stuck muskrat, and a man's girlfriend smashed his windshield with a baseball bat.

Three cars were reported stolen in Oakdale on March 16 and 17, according to Oakdale Police Department reports.
Between 3:30 and 11 a.m. Friday, March 16, a 2003 black Chevy Impala worth $1,210 was stolen from a driveway in the 7800 block of 29th Street, according to a police report. The vehicle was locked and has an alarm, the report says. There was no broken glass in the driveway, according to the report. The complainant said she was current with her car payments and that she has the only key to the car, the report says.
Between 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 16 and 11 a.m. the next day, a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero was stolen from an attached garage in the 4300 block of Hamlet Avenue, according to a police report. The complainant was unsure whether she closed the garage door overnight, and there was no sign of forced entry, the report says. The complainant had the keys in her possession, according to the report.

On Saturday, March 17, a 1998 Acura Integra worth $3,000 was stolen from a parking lot in the 6200 block of 12th Street, according to a police report. The complainant had the keys with him, the report says.

March 16:
- Someone hit a car parked in a lot in the 1500 block of Granada Avenue, cracking the front bumper between 11 p.m. March 15 and 10 a.m. March 16.
- Someone entered an unlocked apartment in a building in the 6100 block of 40th Street and stole $1,368 worth of items including jewelry and a cell phone on March 13 between 6 and 8 p.m.
- A 68-year-old Oakdale man got a phone call from someone claiming he was his grandson and saying that he was in a Mexican jail and needed him to wire money. The man identified himself with a name that wasn’t the same name as the man’s grandson's. The man did not send any money.
- The manager at reported that a large truck with an advertisement for Pro-Cuts regularly drives by the store, stops in the traffic lane for several minutes, and then leaves. Police were unable to make contact with the truck owner or the owner of Woodbury’s Pro-Cuts. A second report states that the truck returned on March 17, however, it was gone when police arrived.
- A caller from reported that a 28-year-old Lake Elmo man was very upset and yelling at staff and customers. He was gone when police arrived. Police weren’t able to make contact with him, but advised the complainant to call the police if he returned.
March 17:
- The front and back license plates were stolen off of a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 400 block of Greenway Avenue between 1 and 8 a.m.
- Two Coon Rapids women who had been trespassed from Menards stores in February were seen on surveillance video inside Oakdale’s store on March 16. The women were cited for trespassing.
- Police helped an employee at free a muskrat that was stuck in the bus lot’s fence.
- A resident in the 7600 block of 11th Street said his girlfriend smashed the windshield of his vehicle, causing $300 damage. The woman had left the home and then called 911 to report that the man had held a gun to her head. Police were not able to make contact with the woman until the next day. She refused to provide a statement, and she was cited for fourth-degree criminal damage to property.
