Oakdale Police Blotter: Truck Stolen From Gershwin Avenue

In other reports, a home was burglarized and a young boy rode a BMX bike out of Sports Authority.

A red 2005 Ford LGT pickup worth $13,800 was reported stolen Sunday, Aug. 14, from the 5100 block of Gershwin Avenue, according to an Oakdale Police Department report.

The incident occurred between 10:30 a.m. Aug. 13 and 8:30 p.m. the next day, the report says.

The truck was legally parked on the street, and the complainant was up-to-date on payments, according to the report. The doors were locked, and there was no visible broken glass on the street. The flatbed of the truck contained $300 worth of tow straps, chains and binders, according to the report.

Following are other incidents that were reported Aug. 11-14:

  • A man pumped $58 of gas at Gasmart and drove off without paying for it.
  • An Oakdale woman reported that her employer ran a check on her to start a health savings plan and she found out that someone else had used her Social Security No.

Aug. 12:

  • A woman who had rented out her home from March to August found that her tenant had left human and dog feces and urine on the floors of the home, located in the 6400 block of 25th Street. The owner suspects the tenant was upset over the eviction process.
  • Items including tool bags containing hand tools, a cell phone and a camera mounted to the dashboard were taken from a vehicle parked in the 6900 block of 10th Street. The total value of the items is $1,030.
  • A boy who is about 10 years old rode a white BMX bike out of , put the bike into a car and rode off. The value of the bike is $279.
  • A complainant said she saw two men knocking on the front door and sitting on the porch of a neighbor’s house in the 6800 block of 15th Street Court, so she called the neighbor, who confirmed no one should be at the home. The complainant went to the home and saw that the second-floor bedroom window was open and the screen cut. When officers arrived, the men were gone. A $200 Xbox 360 had been stolen.

Aug. 13:

  • A resident in the 6400 block of 13th Street reported seeing a 15- to 16-year-old boy walking in private property south of her house. He later returned and placed a trail camera in a tree. The complainant turned in the camera to police.
  • Someone stole a toiletry bag, medications, a backpack containing CDs and a carton of cigarettes with a total value of $424 from a car parked in the 6000 block of Upper 51st Street.

Aug. 14:

  • A man driving in the 2100 block of Grafton reported that two to four juveniles threw eggs at his vehicle. A passenger was hit in the head by an egg thrown through an open window.
  • A plastic child’s slide and dollhouse were stolen from a yard in the 7600 block of 24th Street and later recovered in a roadway in the 2400 block of Helmo Avenue.

The above items are taken from the Oakdale Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation, and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Incidents are listed in the order in which they were reported, not necessarily the order in which they occurred.
