Oakdale Police Blotter: Two Car Break-Ins Reported at Gym
In other reports, police took a drunk woman to her grandma's house to sober up, and a man is suspected of hitting a car parked near his home, then driving off.

Two car break-ins were reported at around 6 p.m. Sunday, May 6.
Someone broke out the rear passenger side window of one car and stole a $300 purse and $220 wallet that contained a driver’s license, Social Security card, green card and debit card. A second bag worth $40 was also stolen. The driver said she had been at the gym since 5:30 p.m.
Someone broke out the driver’s door window of another car and stole a $300 iPhone. The driver of that car reported he had been at the gym since 4:30 p.m.

- Police received a report that a father was shoving his 5-year-old son against the exterior wall of a house in the 1800 block of Hale Avenue. The father said his stepson was not supposed to be outside, and that he fell backwards into the house when he was grabbing for him. The boy didn’t show any obvious signs of abuse.
May 6
- Police responded to a call about an intoxicated woman and found a 30-year-old outside in the 1700 block of Helena Road with a preliminary breath test reading of .263. Because both the Ramsey and Dakota County detox centers were closed, police transported her to her grandmother’s house.
- An $1,800 laptop went missing from a home in the 2400 block of Homestead Avenue. A resident at the home suspects that a guest stole it.
- A man backed his Chevy Suburban into a car parked in the 7500 block of 11th Street, got out of his car, surveyed the damage and then drove off without leaving insurance information, according to a witness. The suspect lives in the area, according to the witness. Police are following up with the witness and suspect.
- Police assisted the Minnesota State Patrol after a semitrailer went of the road and into the center median at Interstate 694 and 50th Street around 8:23 p.m. The driver said he choked on coffee and then slid off the road.
May 7
- More than $5,000 worth of tools were stolen from a trailer parked at at a construction company in the 1600 block of Granada Avenue between 5:30 p.m. May 4 and 6:30 a.m. May 7. Someone cut the padlock off the trailer to break in.
