Police Investigate Arson at Oakdale Park

Oakdale Police suspect second degree arson took place at one of the city's parks on Aug. 31.

The Oakdale Police Department is investigating second degree arson that occurred at Oakfield Park on Friday, Aug. 31.

A nearby resident called the police when he saw flames and smoke coming from the park. When police arrived at they found a satellite bathroom had been burned to the ground, according to the initial complaint.

The Oakdale Fire Department also responded to the incident and extinguished the fire. There was also damage to nearby trees and grass.

Another nearby resident who spoke with police said she saw a dark SUV without headlights leave the cul-de-sac on the 4600 block of Heather Way before police arrived.

There are no suspects at this time.
