Tartan Boys Blanked in Road Game at Simley
Host Simley scores 2-0 decision in Classic Suburban Conference boys soccer over visiting Titans
After two losses and a tie in their last four games, the ninth-ranked Simley High Spartans badly needed a win Tuesday against the visiting Tartan Titans.
They got it, blanking the Titans 2-0 to improve to 6-2-2 on the season and 3-2 in Classic Suburban play.
Junior attacker Zach Myran and senior midfielder Austin Monsrud scored Simley’s goals, both in the first half.

After giving up just two goals in their first six games, the normally stout Spartans had been gashed for five goals in losses to St. Thomas Academy and South St. Paul in two of their last three games. But against Tartan (1-9), the Spartans controlled the action and allowed the Titans few good offensive chances.
It doesn't get any easier for Tartan next up as the Titans play at fifth-ranked North St. Paul Thursday, starting at 5 p.m.
