Tartan High School Ranked Among the Top 50 in Minnesota

took 41st place in the list of the best public high schools in Minnesota—and was ranked 1,678 in the country—by U.S. News and World Report.

The top five schools in Minnesota were (in order): Minneapolis Southwest, , Mahtomedi, and . Here's the complete list.

Nearly 22,000 schools were evaluated across the country, with the top schools receiving gold, silver or bronze medals. Tartan High School was awarded silver, which only went to 2 percent of the schools surveyed.

U.S. News and World Report looked at how students performed on standardized tests versus others in the same state; how black, Hispanic and low-income students did relative to others; and how well a school prepared students for college.
