Tartan Softball Season Comes To A Close
Titans were defeated, 4-1, by East Ridge in Woodbury on Tuesday.
A 4-1 loss to East Ridge in the second round of the Section 4AAA Tournament brought an end to the 2011 season for the softball team on Tuesday.
The Titans, seeded No. 12 in the sectional bracket, bought themselves an extra game via a 4-1 upset victory at fifth-seeded South St. Paul on Monday, yet Tartan could not overcome the No. 4 seed Raptors.
Natalie Friberg scored the lone run of the game for the Titans in the third inning after the senior walked, stole second and third base, then scored on a wild pitch.

The tally tied the game at 1-1, but the hosts would tack on three more tallies and hold Tartan off the scoreboard to claim the victory.
It was the second-straight season that East Ridge ended the Titans season as Tartan finishes its spring campaign with a 3-16 record.
