Tartan Swimmers Fare Well in Conference JV Swim Meet

The Tartan Titans swam to one first and three second-place finishes in the boys Classic Suburban Conference swimming and diving junior varsity meet Thursday

Ninth-grader Josh Corcoran had a big meet Thursday to lead the Titans in the Classic Suburban Conference boys junior varsity swimming and diving meet.

Corcoran won the 100 yard butterly in 1:11.59 to pace the Titans in the meet, held at the Veterans Memorial Community Center in Inver Grove Heights. He also placed third in the 200 yard individual medley in 2:35.85.

Tartan had three second-place finishes in the meet. Seventh-grader Dan Junkans was second in the 100 yard backstroke in 1:11.46. Joe Westcott placed second in the 1 meter diving with a score of 109.65. The team of Corcoran, Connor Siedow, Tyler Halverson and Matt Lowman were second in the 200 yard medley relay in 2:08.25.

Tartan's foursome of Junkans, Halverson, John Bedros and Shane Bartz was fourth in 1:59.79 in the 200 yard freestyle relay. Halverson was fourth in the 200 yard IM in 2:40.41 and Junkans was fifth in the 200 yard freestyle in 2:25.44.

No team scores were kept in the meet.
