Ten Oakdale Residents Compete in the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival

Ten Oakdale residents spent Saturday, Sept. 17, bike racing in the 2011 Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival.

Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival includes a 40-mile mountain bike race from Hayward, WI, to the Telemark Resort just outside Cable, WI, and a 16-mile race in the same area.

A total of 1,919 competitors finished the Chequamegon 40, according to race results, and 882 finished the 16-mile race.

The following Oakdale residents finished the 40-mile ride:

Patrick Gerst, 32, finished 431 overall, 384 in his division, and 63rd in his age group with a time of 2:46:09.1 and pace of 14.7 mph.

John Fitzgerald, 59, finished 545 overall and 33 in his division with a time of 2:51:07.7 and pace of 14.3 mph.

Megan Gerst Rocker, 34, finished 1,095 overall, 64 in her division and 13 in her age group with a time of 3:18:14.5 and a pace of 12.3 mph.

The following Oakdale residents finished the 16-mile ride:

Mark Ludak, 52, finished 392 overall, 304 in his division, and 45 in his age group with a time of 01:24:06.3 and a pace of 11.4 mph.

Angela Stenhammer John, 28, finished 411 overall, 69 in her division and third in her age group with a time of 01:25:07.3 and a pace of 11.2 mph.

Sam Root, 14, finished 602 overall, 437 in his division and 34 in his age group with a time of 01:37:22.8 and a pace of 9.85 mph.

Erin Ludack, 23, finished 630 overall, 150 in her division and 8 in her age group with a time of 01:40:26.9 and a pace of 9.55 mph.

Bill Janssen, 44, finished 697 overall, 489 in his division and 72 in his age group with a time of 01:47:19.1 and a pace of 8.94 mph.

Josh Root, 16, finished 743 overall, 513 in his division and 60 in his age group with a time of 01:52:57.6 and a pace of 8.49 mph.

Paul Root, 48, finished 765 overall, 527 in his division and 79 in his age group with a time of 01:55:53.1 and a pace of 8.28 mph.
