Terroristic Threats, Fleet Farm Thefts, Cat at Large: Oakdale Police Blotter
A 7-year-old was threatened, an Oakdale woman became the victim of a phone scam and a neighborhood tabby cat won't stop hissing.

The following is a summary of some of the incidents that occurred in Oakdale between June 7 and June 10 as provided by the Oakdale Police Department.
If arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
June 7:

- A man was arrested on the 500 block of Granada Avenue on third and fourth-degree DWI charges after he drove his car into a tree. The man’s blood alcohol reading was 0.23.
- A 16-year-old male stole $21.99 worth of merchandise from Fleet Farm. The store’s loss prevention specialist held the boy until police arrived. Upon arrival, police issued the boy a citation for theft.
- A juvenile male was playing outside with other children on the 4000 block of Geneva Avenue when a 7-year-old boy approached the male with a toy water gun. In response, the male said, “if you spray me, I have a real gun at home and I will go get it and shoot you with it.” The 7-year-old boy’s mother called police and had the incident recorded.
- An officer responded to a burglary report on the 1000 block of Hadley Avenue. According to the initial complaint form, the resident said that his new garage door opener was stolen. The cost was about $200.
- A woman called police when she noticed that six cars were “exchanging items” in the street outside her house on the 1000 block of Helena Road. According to the complaint, the drivers left the area once they noticed she was watching them. Upon arrival, police did not find any signs criminal activity.
- One man was cited for having drug paraphernalia in his car parked near Best Buy. According to the complaint, the responding officer detected “a strong odor of marijuana” coming from the parked Chevrolet Impala. When the car owner admitted to smoking marijuana and showed the officer his marijuana pipe, he was issued a citation.
June 8
- An 88-year-old Oakdale woman became the victim of a scam when she received a phone call from a representative from “Clear Cast” asking her to buy a cable box for $96.95. The woman sent a check to “Brilliant Built Technologies” for the requested amount. The woman’s banker put a stop order on the check when the banker noticed it looked like a scam. Police confirmed that both Clear Cast and Brilliant Built Technologies are not legitimate companies.
- An officer in an unmarked car saw a man driving a silver sports bike northbound on Hallmark Avenue. The driver, identified as William Alexander, 41, has a first-degree burglary warrant for his arrest, so the officer attempted to pull Alexander over. According to the complaint, Alexander accelerated and could not be followed. A warrant is out for his arrest.
- Police were called to a playground at Castle Elementary School on a report that a coyote wouldn’t leave the area. A woman and her 3-year-old son were afraid to leave the park due to animal’s presence. When police arrived, the animal fled to a nearby drainage pipe. Police identified the animal as a fox.
- A 64-year-old man was arrested for stealing LED lights and an LED switch from Fleet Farm. The store’s loss prevention specialist held the man until police arrived and issued him a citation for theft. He was released on the scene.
- A GPS unit and five dollars in coins were stolen from a parked, unlocked Mazada Protege on the 4000 block of Helena Avenue.
- Neighbors on the 7000 block of 12th Street called police to report a cat at large. According to the complaint, the cat “constantly walks around and hisses at people.” After talking with police, the cat’s owner agreed to keep the cat inside.
June 9

- Police were called to the 3000 block of Grenadier Place when a man noticed that his blue gazing ball and bird bath base were stolen from his front lawn. Police reported the incident as an article theft.
June 10
- A 24-year-old man was driving eastbound on 10th Street when police pulled him over for speeding. The man showed signs of intoxication, failed field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol reading of 0.13. He was arrested on fourth-degree DWI and traffic charges.
