Update: Pedestrians ‘Were Literally Run Over’

The children were in fair condition as of Thursday morning; the driver may be cited.

The pedestrians who were on Monday are still recovering.

The trio was “literally run over,” according to City Administrator Clint Gridley, who gave the Woodbury City Council an update of the incident during its Wednesday night workshop.

Latoya L. Patterson, 28, of Oakdale, and her two children Jermaine A. Mohondhis and Amandalee K. Mohondhis were heading toward when a motorist taking a left and heading south onto Radio Drive ran them over. The incident happened in front of the city's .

The 2-year-old is suffering from head trauma, Gridley said, and a Gillette Children’s Hospital spokesperson said the child is in fair condition. The 4-year-old is also in fair condition. The mother is in good condition but has not been discharged, according to a Regions Hospital official.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family,” Councilman Christopher Burns said.

Gridley said the driver, an 81-year-old from Woodbury, had recently been to the eye doctor and her vision may have been impaired.

Woodbury Police Cmdr. Jay Alberio said the woman may be cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
