• Man killed in Otter Tail County force incident identified (perhamfocus.com) — A Fergus Falls police officer serving on the Otter Tail County SWAT team fatally shot 39-year-old Christopher Olson during a standoff at a rural Battle Lake home early Sept. 26. Investigators say Olson fired a shotgun at an armored vehicle before being shot, and the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is now reviewing the use of force for the county attorney.

Offutt's Potato Field Days, where residents dig their own potatoes to share, store, or turn into favorite dishes. • A new steward for Otter Tail County history (perhamfocus.com) — Ottertail residents have a new steward of their county's shared history as historian and educator Scott Brantner takes over as executive director of the Otter Tail County Historical Society. From expanding digital access and school programs to highlighting smaller local sites, he plans to bring more of the county's stories—including those from Ottertail—into classrooms, homes, and community events.
