Armstrong Football Game Day Preview

Armstrong hosts out-of-conference rival Minnetonka this Friday.

Armstrong looks to equal their win total of last year (2) early in the season. After beating Maple Grove last week, the Falcons are confident going into this game.

Robbinsdale Armstrong (1-0, 1-0 Northwest Suburban Conference) will go up against Minnetonka (1-0, 0-0 Lake Conference) at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Armstrong High School. The weather is expected to sunny and 77 degrees. The last meeting of these two teams Minnetonka beat Armstrong 35-20 in the 2009-2010 season.

Who are the playmakers?

For the Falcons it's LB Matthew Koch. Being a senior on defense can be a tough task. Matthew makes it look easy. Look for Matthew to read the quarterback’s eyes all game and don’t be surprise if he ends up with an interception or two.

For the Skippers its' FS Charles Webb. Look for Charles to put a lot of pressure on the quarterback. You can expect him to be coming fast and furious on blitz packages.

Winning Scenarios

If the Falcons win it won’t let last weeks win make them overconfident. The team knows that Minnetonka is coming into town and they play hard and must play smart football.

If the Skippers win and do what they did last week against Totino-Grace by not giving up any points a win is possible. The Falcons are flying high after last weeks win and the Skippers better be prepared.
