Most sources of stress come from fears and concerns over factors we cannot control. When there is tension in our lives, our initial reaction is to fix it, to make it better. But life is messy. The more we risk and love, the more we grow and the more we make ourselves vulnerable to further conflict, obstacles, and tension. At the heart of serenity and maturity is a willingness to release our need to control or remove all sources of stress. With that we free ourselves to be more open and grow as individuals or to grow as people.
It is impossible to remove all the sources of stress in our life. Until we can accept the fact that life is full of stress and this will never change, either will our natural ability to adapt and react to life.
I tried to look up the definition of stress one day and most of the websites asked for more specifics of the source of the stress. For example wikipedia had factors like mechanical, biological, physiological, psychological, and so on. This made me think of when I say stress, what are practice members actually associating stress with. All definitions and sources are correct, but the fact remains the same that stress does come in many forms and we can only do our best to break it down into categories, but in reality every individual defines stress differently based on the biggest obstacles in their lives.

In my great profession as a chiropractor, we break stress down to three different categories, them being physical, chemical, and emotional. It is everywhere. It seems simple enough to think of examples of all three of these, but when stress is first mentioned what category did you really thinking about. It is important that we realize and accept all stresses in our lives because for the most part we cannot remove or control them. Stress is much like that annoying cousin, that no matter what, there is nothing you can do about it. He/she is always going to be family and your going to see them at every family event. It is something that you have just grown to accept.
It is a well known fact that stress is detrimental to the body and can come to cause major disfunction's of the body. The only solution that I see is to remove the initial cause of dysfunction in the body overcome by stress. These interference's are called subluxations, which have to do with the altered flow of information from our brain to our body and our body to our brain. We can do something about this. By getting our spines checked by a chiropractor on a regular basis, we can avoid body dysfunctions caused by stress to the body.
