Plymouth's Citywide Read selection for 2012 is "Under a Flaming Sky" by Daniel James Brown, a personal account of the firestorm that engulfed Hinckley, Minn. in 1894.
The kick off event features a presentation by University of Minnesota Professors Mark Seeley and Lee Frelich on the differences between the Hinckley firestorm and the recent Boundary Waters fire on Pagami Creek.
