Goddard School Attempts Record Breaking Game of Simon Says

The Goddard School for preschool education in Plymouth was part of nationwide attempt to break the Guinness world record for the most people playing Simon Says at one time.

"Simon says touch your nose!"

"Now jump on one foot! Wait, Simon didn't say!"

For many the game of Simon Says is a classic kids game. It was passed to a new generation on Sept. 23 at the . But the game came with a twist.

The Plymouth franchised joined all the schools across the nation to attempt to break the Guinness world record for the largest game of Simon Says done in multiple venues at the same time.

In order to break the record collectively the private, early childhood education schools must have 12,215 participants playing the game at the exact same time. The attempt will be supported by participating schools from more than 370 of the franchised schools across the nation.

Plymouth Patch Editor Stefanie Briggs was there to be an official witness at the Simon Says event, which had more than 30 participants from preschoolers and staff.

Director of Education Salley Hansen played Simon and gave the orders. As children were fooled by doing something Simon didn't say to do they would go sit down, but were still engaged in who would win.
