More than 100 Plymouth Residents Ran In Twin Cities Marathon

Around 147 Plymouth residents participated in the 2011 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Oct. 2,

It was a beautiful Autumn day for the massive amount of participants of the 30th annual Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon on Sunday, Oct. 2, in St. Paul.

The point-to-point course began near the Mall of America Field in downtown Minneapolis and finished at the State Capitol in Saint Paul. The course winds around four lakes and both sides of the Mississippi River. The course terrain includes some rolling hills and starting and finishing at an elevation of about 840 feet and doesn't climb more than 100 feet long.

This year's top female finisher was Yeshimebet Bifa, 23, of Waldorf, Md, with the time of 2 hours 28 minutes 24 seconds.

This year's top female finisher from Plymouth was Jody Kleyman, 37, with the time of 3 hours 23 minutes and 13 seconds.

This year's top male finisher was Sammy Malakwen, 33, of Two Harbors, Minn. with the time of 2 hours, 13 minutes and 11 seconds.

This year's top male finisher from Plymouth was Troy Erickson, 37, with the time of 2 hours, 51 minutes and 53 seconds.
