Plymouth Man Named as U.S. Bank’s Next Twin Cities President

Phillip Trier will start his new job June 1.

A Plymouth man has been named as the new president of U.S. Bank’s Twin Cities market, U.S. Bancorp announced Tuesday.

Phillip Trier lives in the community with his wife, Patty, and their three children. He started with U.S. Bank in 2000 as a portfolio manager and is now a senior vice president leading the Twin Cities commercial banking division. Trier will begin his job as Twin Cities market president June 1.

“The Twin Cities is U.S. Bank’s hometown and it’s critical that we have strong, visible leaders here,” a news release quoted Richard Davis, chairman, president and CEO of U.S. Bank. “Phil is an enthusiastic and talented banker, one who is incredibly plugged in to our local community, and I look forward to him taking on this very important role.”

Trier studied economics at St. John’s University in Collegeville and is also a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Trier is on the boards of the Plymouth Civic League and the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce. He’s also active with Special Olympics Minnesota, AchieveMinneapolis, Greater Twin Cities United Way, Junior Achievement and Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity.
