Plymouth Middle School Students Artwork Honored

Plymouth Middle School students' poster artwork will be honored by the city of New Hope at its annual Prayer Breakfast Friday, Oct. 28.

The theme of "New Hope for Children," inspired three students to create the winning posters for this year's New Hope Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast poster contest.

The three eighth grade winners were Hanna Kantor, Kelli Appelen, and Anthony Brown-Norton. Also, three sixth grade students received honorable mentions.

New Hope Mayor Kathi Hemken was at the school this week to honor the student poster contest winners. The breakfast is held in October each year.

Art judges were identified from Channel 12 and Northwest Cable Television and the winning artwork was chosen for the front page and for pages within the program for the event.

Mayor Hemken came to Plymouth Middle School to recognize the students and their accomplishment. Kelli Appelen’s second place poster also contained a poem that she wrote and the mayor asked Kelli to read her poem at the breakfast on Oct. 28.
