Plymouth Recognized For Playground Donation to Poland

Earlier this year, the city of Plymouth donated the old Shiloh Park playground to Glogow, Poland and now the city is being recognized for its contribution.

During the past year, the city of Plymouth worked with the Kids Around the World program to give its city playground equipment a second life.

In July, on how the Shiloh Park's old playground was being donated to the city of Glogow in Poland and Oct. 12 the city was recognized for its contribution.

The refurbished Shiloh playground was the first playground installed in Glogow since the fall of communism in 1990.

Zbigniew Wierzchowski, a representative from Glogow, gave a presentation to city representatives and others at Plymouth City Hall. Paul Bierhaus with the Kids Around the World program and Plymouth Mayor Kelli Slavik were on hand to exchange stories about the program's work and the playground's use.

This summer the city worked again with the Kids Around the World program  to donate equipment from South Shore Park and recently learned that playground equipment will go to Haiti.

The nonprofit Kids Around the World project for Poland was made possible with monetary donations from several local churches, the Plymouth Rotary Club and other rotary clubs locally and worldwide that join in a partnership and use a match grant program to pay for the expenses involved.
