Plymouth's Goddard School Seeks To Break World Record

Plymouth's Goddard School will be among the many Goddard locations seeking to break the world record for largest game of Simon Says in multiple venues.

Simon Says could have a whole new meaning for the students at the Goddard School in Plymouth this week.

On Friday, Sept. 23, all the schools across the nation will attempt to break the Guinness world record for the largest game of Simon Says done in multiple venues at the same time.

In order to break the record collectively the private, early childhood education schools must have 12,215 participants playing the game at the exact same time. The attempt will be supported by participating schools from more than 370 of the franchised schools across the nation.

“Our children are so excited to work together in an attempt to be a part of a special record," said Lisa Amic, co-owner of The Goddard School in Plymouth." All of us, young and older, have great memories of playing the game Simon Says. Couple the power of play with a record-breaking attempt, and we have the recipe for a very special day.”

The world record breaking event will be during the school's block party event taking place all this week. The party is part of an effort to spread the preschool's messsage of the "power of play for learning" to the community. The school is also trying to model the importance of providing a healthy, active lifestyle for all children.
