Robert “Bob” J. Pickenpack

Service scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at Wayzata Community Church

Robert "Bob" J. Pickenpack, age 89 of Plymouth he passed away peacefully in his sleep on Aug. 1, 2011, after a long illness with his family by his side.

Pickenpack was a devoted husband of 65 years to wife, Catherine; loving father to Barbara (Lee) Lyons, Mark Pickenpack and Joan Pickenpack; granddaddy to Christy and Sarah, Michael and Christopher, Meghan, Lindsay, Brittany and Samuel and great granddaddy to Madison Joy.

Bob was born in Buffalo, NY on November 14, 1921.

He graduated in 1943 from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY as the recipient of an honor's scholarship in Chemistry. He joined General Mills in 1946 as the Quality Control Manager and was named Director of Quality Services for restaurants and non-food operations until his retirement in 1985.

Bob enjoyed his retirement years by traveling across the country golfing and spending time at his cabin.

Pickenpack is remembered as a true family man who deeply loved his wife, children and grandchildren and will be missed by all.  

The funeral service for Pickenpack is 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, at Wayzata Community Church, 125 East Wayzata Blvd. in Wayzata. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4 2011, at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E. Wayzata Blvd in Wayzata and one hour before the funeral on Friday at church.

Interment is at Summit Park Cemetery.

Memorials preferred to Wayzata Community Church or Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners.
