WATCH: Providence Academy Grads Embark on Next Chapter in Life

Providence Academy grads celebrated new beginnings and reflected on past years at Friday’s commencement ceremony.  

Matt Birk, a member of the Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens, offered a commencement speech that he said reflected what he would tell his kids if he had a few minutes with them and might never see them again.  

Birk advised the graduates that things are never as bad—or as good—as they seem and told them to keep working to improve themselves.  

“The Devil’s challenges come in different forms,” Birk said. “They come in adversity and prosperity. Success derails as many people as adversity does. So be on guard. Don’t get too prideful.”
