West Lutheran H.S. Hosts Coaches vs Cancer Event
West Lutheran players, coaches and fans raised funds for cancer research on February 14.
On February 14, West Lutheran High School held its annual Coaches vs Cancer event during the Warriors boys basketball games against PACT Charter. Filled with exciting basketball action, frenzied fans, and pep band music, this night was focused on raising cancer awareness and collecting funds to support cancer research through the Coaches vs Cancer and Relay for the Life programs.
During this event, funds were raised through fan donations, bake sale and t-shirt purchases. Representatives from Relay for Life of Plymouth/Wayazata assisted with the event and provided information about cancer and the Relay for Life event. At the end of the evening, the Warriors were victorious by defeating the PACT Charter Panters and raising $1000 for cancer awareness and research.
Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) that empowers basketball coaches, their teams, and local communities to support lifesaving cancer research, education, advocacy, and community service efforts.
