Boy, 9, Dies In UTV Rollover: Douglas County Sheriff
A 9-year-old boy is dead and a 10-year-old girl is injured after the utility task vehicle they were in rolled over, pinning the two.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, MN — A 9-year-old boy is dead and a 10-year-old girl is injured after the utility task vehicle they were in rolled over, pinning the two. The vehicle was a Polaris Ranger XP side-by-side UTV, The two were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash, according to authorities.
On Aug. 17 at about 4:20 p.m., the Douglas County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about an ATV rollover with injuries. The rollover occurred on the slope of a cut hay field north of a residence in Millerville Township.
The driver, Jon Thomas Dingwall, Jr. was driving the UTV when it overturned and he was pinned under the machine. A 10-year-old girl passenger was also pinned under the machine but was able to get free and attempted to get help.

A Douglas County Deputy arrived and was able to free the child from under the UTV and began CPR. Life Link III arrived to treat Dingwall and he was air-lifted from the scene to the Hennepin County Medical Center. Dingwall was treated at the Hennepin County Medical Center but later died.
The girl was transported to the Douglas County Hospital by North Ambulance and later air-lifted by Life Link III to the St. Cloud Hospital. She is currently listed in Fair Condition, according to a news release.

The accident remains under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
