Together We Stand - Join Us!

Wonder what you can do to prevent dangerous, underage drinking now? Get helpful hints and FREE materials for parents, businesses, and faith communities from the Together We Stand Campaign.

Beginning April 25, the Tri-City Partners Coalition is asking you to “STAND between kids and alcohol” in its annual Together We Stand Campaign. The Campaign runs through June to unite parents, businesses, faith communities and residents in an effort to keep teens from drinking alcohol at this time when many prom and graduation celebrations take place.

This year’s campaign makes it easy and fun to unite for this cause. Everyone can spread the word or show their support by going to the campaign web page and downloading an electronic button or badge. Use buttons or badges to spread the word or show your support on websites, blogs, Facebook pages, email messages, newsletters, electronic signatures and other electronic communications.

Following the link on the button or badge takes viewers to the campaign page for actions to prevent underage drinking and no-cost resources everyone can use. Campaign messages displayed around town have QR codes that also direct viewers with the Smart Phone app to the campaign web page.

This campaign underscores that, while many teens choose to use alcohol, underage drinking is the most preventable risk behavior. Denise Reese, Youth Health Promotion Specialist with Bloomington Public Health, said, “Underage drinking comes down to access. If our teens cannot get their hands on it, they cannot use it. We are asking all community members to help limit access to teens.”

Let's work together to keep kids safe from alcohol. Get prevention actions and no-cost prevention resources. Visit the campaign web page here.
